Starts a rainfall on the field lasting for 5 turns. Increases the power of Water-type moves by 50% and Thunder and Hurricane will always hit. Decreases the power of Solar Beam and Fire-type moves by 50%. Synthesis, Morning Sun, and Moonlight restore only 1/4 HP. A Pokémon with Rain Dish now gets 1/16 HP restored each turn, Dry Skin restores 1/8 HP, a Pokémon with Swift Swim is now twice as fast, and a Pokémon with Hydration will have their existing status conditions cured each turn. Castform and Weather Ball become Water-type. Move fails if heavy rain, extremely harsh sunlight, or a mysterious air current is present. The duration of Rain Dance increases to 8 if the user holds a Damp Rock.
