Sets an entry hazard around the enemy team's field. Target Pokémon who switch in become poisoned (normal poisoned with one Toxic Spikes layer, badly poisoned with two or more layers). Does not affect Flying-, Poison-, or Steel-types, Pokémon with Immunity, Levitate, Leaf Guard (during intense sunlight), or Magic Guard, or Pokémon holding an Air Balloon. A target who is Flying, Levitating, or holding an Air Balloon will still be affected if under the effect of Gravity, while holding an Iron Ball, or if Baton Passed an Ingrain. If a Poison-type switches in, it absorbs Toxic Spikes, ending its effect (only if the Poison-type isn't also Flying, Levitating, or holding an Air Balloon, or if it is but also carries an Iron Ball or Gravity is in effect). Does not activate Synchronise. Can be removed by Rapid Spin and Defog. Can be reflected with Magic Coat.
