Seafolk Village & Poni Wilds

Seafolk Village is a tiny place full of happy faces. The cheerful folks that reside here have dedicated their lives to exploring the sea. Poni Wilds is easily accessed from Seafolk Village and is littered with strong Trainers.

Stopping off at Seafolk Village

Upon docking on Poni Island, walk north to find Lillie. You’ll bump into the seafolk’s friendly chief, who will inform you that you need to speak to Hapu in order to find the Kahuna of Poni Island. Head over to the Huntail ship (the southwest floating houseboat) and speak to the man inside. The man will give you a Magmarizer (evolves Magmar) and an Electirizer (evolves Electabuzz).

Top tip: Before you speak to the girl behind the man that gave you a Magmarizer and an Electirizer, be sure to save your game! The girl will give you an Aerodactyl, but as this Pokémon cannot be bred (since it's a Fossil Pokémon), this will be your only chance to get a favourable Nature. Assign a Pokémon with the Ability: Synchronoise as the head of your party to ensure that your Aerodactyl has your preferred Nature.

Now head into Seafolk Village’s Floating Restaurant. Order any Z-Noodle bowl to receive a Heart Scale. Check under each of the tables and you’ll find a Zygarde Cell. Continue on to the houseboat opposite the restaurant and speak to the girl inside. She’ll ask whether you’re a lucky person. Answer truthfully and she’ll give you a Lucky Punch (increases Chansey's critical hit ratio by two stages).

Show the woman sitting on the opposite couch an Alolan Raichu and she’ll give you Raichu’s exclusive Z-Crystal, Aloraichium Z. Head out of the south door to locate a fishing spot and TM91 (Flash Cannon). When fishing in this area, you may sometimes find Pearls, Sticky Barbs and Bottle Caps.

Past the tree, a woman is waiting to trade her Steenee for a Granbull. There are many Granbull on Poni Island so you should return here later to take advantage of this trade.

You can also visit the Pokémon Center here. The Ace Trainer in the Center can teach the move, Draco Meteor, to any Dragon-type Pokémon that is completely friendly to you. There is also an old man here that teaches Dragon Ascent however, only the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza can learn this move (which must be imported via Pokémon Bank).

Battling through Poni Wilds

From Seafolk Village, walk left through the patch of grass and then bear right to battle Ace Trainer Lindsey. Now walk towards the beach and you’ll notice a Trainer waiting on the beach. You won’t be able to battle this Trainer until you’ve defeated all the others along this route so you’ll have to come back to her later. However, there are a few great items located close to the beach.

Head north of Dancer Julia and press Ⓐ to find a hidden Pearl. West of the south side of the southern rock, press Ⓐ to pick up a hidden Repeat Ball. If you head to the north end of the beach, you can also pick up a Max Repel and a Zygarde Cell near the two rocks. Right at the northernmost tip of the beach is a Big Pearl.

You’re at the beach, so you may as well go for a swim! Use Lapras Paddle or Sharpedo Jet to retrieve a Pearl String in the water, near the central fishing spot - located west of the southern rock on the beach. At the other fishing spot, located west of the northernmost rock on the beach, you can find a Dusk Stone. That’s all that we can do here right now so head back onto land and walk up the beach.

You’ll soon find Ace Trainer Kekoa waiting to battle you. After defeating him, keep walking and you’ll run into Dancer Cara, who’s also up for a quick battle. Behind Cara, is a Berry tree which may drop the following berries:

You can expect to be greeted by a familiar Pokémon here too!

Between the two rocks next to the Berry tree you can pick up a Rare Candy. You need to find the last Trainer in this area before heading back to the beach to battle Dancer Julia so let’s retrace our steps back towards the entrance to Seafolk Village.

Walk past Lindsey once again and you’ll find yourself under another Berry tree, which may drop the following berries:

Follow the path round, staying as close to the left side as possible. You’ll head through another grass patch and will also find a Max Potion. Continue and you’ll walk through another two grass patches. Turn into the ledge to retrieve a Zygarde Cell and then turn to pick up the other Zygarde Cell next to the Trainer Tips sign. Up the hill on your left is another Berry tree which may drop the following berries:

After checking out the tree, head down and through the patches of grass to battle Cook Fil. After defeating Fil, head back to the beach to finally battle Dancer Julia. She'll give you a Focus Sash as a reward for defeating her. Once you’re ready to leave the area, head back to where you battled Cook Fil and follow the path round to reach Ancient Poni Path.
